The Mystery of God

Being the theological sort that you are, you might be interested in what we see as God's provision for us, and at such a price...we were not certain how long we were going to be in Maputo and didn't know all sorts of things until 2 days before we left when we heard word that another (OMS)missionary couple with young children were leaving on emergency leave for Canada and that their flat would be opening up...Their 2 1/2 year old boy name Gabriel was diagnosed with a rare liver cancer and has less than a 30% chance of living even with chemo. For them, it is the face of death and disease. For us, we are left with a fully furnished 5 bedroom/ 4 bath flat with garage, guard and empragada (house help) for $60/day. As we have two young men from our church (Ross & Josh--the mechanic and a true brother) traveling with us, this has been unbelievable accomodations and many would say, God's provision for us, but at what cost. The other family had only arrived here 8 months ago, were just hitting their stride in terms of getting the OMS seminary up and running and then vanished after YEARS of preparation. This too, is God's provision a severe mercy of sorts, but not outside of His plan. I am bemused and humbled at the tiny speck of dust that I am and we all are in this whole thing called history. Pray, dear sister, for the healing of little Gabriel so that the work of God may go forward here in Mozambique. Pray too that we may worship God in Spirit and in the truth of who He is rather than what we want or imagine Him to be. - Love, Brian
